Dr. Viloria graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in 2003. Prior to studying at Dental School, he attended the University of Kansas where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1995. Before attending dental school he had a career as a job coach for an individual with a disability and followed as the Admistrative Director for the Beach Research Center on Families with Disabilities. While there Dr.Viloria helped write federal grants studying the healthcare system, specifically in dentistry, and how it might be improved for those families facing the challenges of a member with a disability.
Dr. Viloria has never been one to sit back and watch. Upon entering dental school he took the lead in student government. Sitting on numerous panels and committees for the University, he was the representative of the dental school to the American Dental Education Association(ADEA). He was also the president of the now nationally recognized organization Students Take Action in which he encouraged the dentists of tomorrow to recognize their responsibility to engage and support the communites they would later serve by involvement with community service. Through these combined efforts he would be recognized as the UMKC Student of the Year, recieve the Golden Cane of Leadership award, and be recognized by Proctor and Gamble for Achievement and Excellance at the ADEA National conference.
Dr. Viloria has been in his current location for 4 years as the successor to a practice that has faithfully served the community of Raymore for more than 30 years. He hopes to continue in the foot steps of his predessors by maintining the tradition of family values, quality dentistry, and as a friend to the community. Since he began practicing dentistry, Dr. Viloria has been in constant pursuit of enhancing his dental knowledge by keeping up to date on many continuing education classes. He has completed coursework in advanced occlusion from the acclaimed Hornbrook Institute, as well as sought instruction under some of the greatestest minds in dentistry today, including Kois, Strupp, and Chiche, just to name a few. Through this pursuit and maintining involvement with the American Dental Association, the Missouri Dental Association, The Seattle Study Club, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Viloria is committed to ensuring that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced treatment in today's dental care.
Dr. Viloria has been happily married to his wife Christa for the last 13 years. He openly admits he got the better end of the deal. They have been blessed with two beautiful children and the newest canine member of their family Koda, a labrador mix from the local shelter. Dr. Viloria believes faith and family come before everything and dentistry is simply a glorified form of entitlement to which he afffectionately calls being a "tooth mechanic". In fact, he would prefer for you to call him ""Richard" or Dr "V" if you must..
In the end Dr. "V" wants you all to know that dentistry is not about sales gimmicks or the latest fad's. He believes in sound and necessary dentistry. He treats everyone the same, with a smile, sincerety, and honesty. When approaching your treatment planning he does so as if he were treating a member of his own family. "So please come in, we'd love to meet you!"
